How it works
Once a referral is submitted, CheckMark coordinates the patient’s imaging appointment, dermatologist review, and report delivery. Your clinic receives clear next-step guidance without needing to manage the imaging process directly.
Confirm patient fit
CheckMark is designed for patients with 1–2 concerning skin spots appropriate for focused teledermoscopy assessment.
1
Submit the referral
Refer using the fax form or online referral form. Our team reviews the referral and coordinates the next step with the patient.
2
We handle the next steps
A licensed BC dermatologist reviews the images and provides a report with follow-up guidance, typically within 48–72 hours after imaging.
3
Before you refer
Check Mark is not appropriate for:
✕Full-body skin exams
✕ Lesions in intimate or covered areas
✕Patients under 18 years old
✕More than 2 lesions per visit
Skin concerns are common in primary care and pharmacy settings — but the path to a specialist is slow. CheckMark fills that gap with a focused, fast assessment your patients can access locally.
Why refer to CheckMark?
vs. 6–12 months with a standard referral
1
< 2 weeks
Your patient gets a dermatologist's assessment in under two weeks — not at the end of a year-long wait list.
Clinically validated against face-to-face dermatologist assessment
2
100% sensitivity
Our teledermoscopy protocol is validated against the gold standard, with a publication pending. Teledermoscopy is used worldwide to accelerate skin cancer assessment. Referring to CheckMark is a clinically sound decision.
3
Clear next steps
For concerning skin lesions
Each assessment is reviewed by a BC-certified dermatologist, with a report sent back to the referring provider. Patients who need follow-up are directed to the appropriate next step.
