-
Patients can be referred to CheckMark by a family physician or nurse practitioner. Referrals are intended for focused assessment of 1–2 specific skin lesions of concern.
-
CheckMark is designed for focused skin spot assessment using teledermoscopy. It is appropriate for patients with 1–2 specific lesions that require dermatology review. Any additional lesions will require a separate referral.
-
CheckMark is not intended for full-body skin exams, rashes, acne, lesions in intimate or covered areas, patients under 18, or patients with more than two lesions requiring assessment.
-
Once a referral is received, the patient can attend a participating pharmacy or clinic location for image capture. Standardized clinical and dermoscopic images are submitted securely to CheckMark for dermatologist review.
-
Images are reviewed by a licensed dermatologist. Pharmacy and clinic staff do not diagnose, interpret lesions, or provide clinical recommendations.
-
The referring provider receives a dermatologist report with the assessment and recommended next steps. This may include reassurance, monitoring, an in-person dermatology visit, biopsy, excision, or another appropriate follow-up pathway.
